Glow From the Inside Out – The Power of Vitamin C

Introduction

Hello everyone,

I love summer—being outside, going to the beach, hitting golf balls, biking, walking and just soaking up the outdoors. The warm sunshine feels amazing, but it can also be tough on your skin. The good news? You’ve got a natural ally right in your kitchen: Vitamin C.

This powerhouse nutrient does more than support your immune system—it plays a key role in skin repair, collagen production, and healing from sun exposure. Think of it as your body’s internal sunscreen booster, helping reduce UV damage and keeping your skin firm, bright, and youthful all season long.

Why Vitamin C Matters This Summer:

  • Supports Skin Repair – Helps heal and regenerate skin cells after sun exposure.

  • Boosts Collagen – Keeps skin supple, reducing fine lines and sagging.

  • Fights Free Radicals – Neutralizes UV damage and environmental stressors.

  • Strengthens Immunity – Keeps your defenses strong for all your summer adventures.

  • Enhances Iron Absorption – Gives you more energy for active days in the sun.

Vitamin C–Rich Foods to Add to Your Summer Plate:

  • Citrus fruits – Oranges, tangerines, grapefruits, lemons, limes

  • Berries – Strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries

  • Tropical fruits – Kiwi, papaya, mango, pineapple, guava

  • Veggies – Red and green bell peppers, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, kale, spinach, tomatoes

Tip: Enjoy these foods fresh or lightly steamed to preserve their vitamin power. Pair them with iron-rich plant foods (like spinach or lentils) for an extra nutrient boost.

Here’s to glowing skin and vibrant health—inside and out. Try the smoothie recipe below to up your vitamin C intake.
