Keeping Fit During Back-to-School Season

Introduction

Back-to-school season can create a hectic schedule, rushing kids around from sports practices to school clubs. While these kids may be getting their exercise in, parents often struggle to find the time to exercise. Thus, one may consider on-the-go workouts that can easily fit in to one’s busy schedule.

Walking

Walking is often one of the easiest exercises to start up. Most of us are accustomed to some amount of walking in our day-to-day life and it requires no extra equipment. Perhaps you use the staircase at your workplace. Incorporating a few more sets of walking up and down is a simple way to increase your fitness level. Many people also enjoy using smart technology, such as smart phones and smart watches to track how many steps they take per day. This can help with setting goals and marking achievements.

Running

One of the staples of cardio, running, also requires minimal startup costs. One simply needs exercise clothing and running shoes to start. Running, much like walking, benefits from the variability of the activity. While some people may prefer going to the gym to use a treadmill, runners also have the option of running outdoors in nearly any terrain. One might opt to go for a run while waiting for their child to finish sports practice.

Bodyweight Exercises

Bodyweight exercises allow for the benefits of lifting weights, without the need of lugging heavy and expensive equipment around or going to a gym. Try incorporating exercises like curl-ups and pushups. Some fields have outdoor equipment; consider utilizing this while your child is at their activity.

Conclusion

Maintaining fitness in busy times requires compromise and creativity. Remember to consider your limits and how to work around them to invest in your own health. Even the little things can make a huge difference.
