Keeping Fit While on Vacation

Consider What You Can Realistically Bring

Let’s face it, packing for a trip can be very stressful; planning activities plays a major part in this chaos. One must consider the restraints of packing space and weight. After all, packing for a flight is far more restrictive than packing for a road trip. It may be possible to pack free weights if traveling by car. Some companies make travel-ready yoga mats. Consider your options for equipment you can realistically bring with you.

Utilizing Resort Amenities

It would be nigh impossible to bring heavy workout machinery to a vacation destination. Thus, many hotels and resorts provide a small gym for guests. These gyms, however, may not contain the machines you use in your regular routine. Observe what machines and other amenities are available before your vacation. Focus on what elements of your routine can be performed and which can be substituted with the equipment provided.

Vacation Exhaustion

We often forget how exhausting vacations can be. Depending on the destination, a variety of activities may be planned. Cater your workouts to the day’s activities. For example, a morning run paired with an afternoon mountain hike may prove a disastrous mixture for some. Know your limits and work around them.
